During the middle kingdom. Also called the golden kingdom, was the time period 2050 BCE to 1670 BCE. During this period Egypt gained new land, the arts thrived, but came to the end in 1670 BCE. The Hyksos took over for 150 years in till Ahmose drove Hyksos out of Egypt. The uprising started the New kingdom that lasted 1550 BCE to 1080 BCE. During this period Egypt became more powerful, richer, and reached the height of their glory. In 1473 BCE the first woman pharaoh Hatshepsut was in charge. Hatshepsut focused on trade instead of war and made Egypt Rich. Later in Amenhotep tried to changed the religion. He tried to make religion have one god and died of his focused only on religion. After his was Tutankhamen a child in charge. He changed the religion the way it was and put the original priest back to their temples. After "King Tut" Ramses II he gained land in western asia and built new temple. After his death Egypt fall because they didn't have the weapons and lost to Libyans, then kush, and finally the Assyrians.
